- Is a Naming Ceremony the same as a Christening? A Christening is a Christian ceremony in which a child is welcomed into the family of the church. A Naming Ceremony welcomes a child into the family and the community to which the family belongs.
- Can I arrange for a Naming Candle to be presented to the child during the Ceremony? If you would like a Naming Candle to be presented during the ceremony, I can arrange to buy one for you with details on it such as the name and date of birth of your child.
- Is it necessary to appoint godparents? This is completely up to you. Some people follow traditional practices and appoint godparents for their children. Others appoint similar individuals but call them guardians or mentors and give them specified roles in relation to the child. In other families, grandparents and other relatives are given specific roles and make promises in relation to the child.
